Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage

I really enjoyed this book. Once I got started it was very interesting and hard to put down. I really feel for Suzette. As a mom who is constantly worried about my own kids, her parts of the story really resonated with me. I am a little angry that she never thought to secretly install cameras to catch her daughter's behavior, but if she did that the story likely wouldn't have progressed, or at least probably wouldn't have been as enjoyable. I was feeling my own feelings of relief when Suzette was finally able to be free.

Based on the description I read of this book, I thought I was going to be reading a V.C. Andrews- like book. A dysfunctional family, some messed up relationships, and drama. I was excited since I loved V.C. Andrews books as a teen. But that is not what this book is. So immediately, it took a turn I was not expecting. As I started reading, I thought it was going to be about a possessed child. And as I continued reading, it was actually about mental illness. I felt so deeply with the characters. I have people very dear to me struggling with mental illness. Being someone who loves someone with a mental illness, I really saw myself in Suzette's character.

Overall, this book was amazing, and made me feel many different things.

I read this book a few months ago, and borrowed my review from my goodreads account for this post.
